Yi-Chun Lin, NCARB, NOMA
Director, Architecture, Landscape & Site Design
In her role as Director, Yi-Chun advocates for multidisciplinary collaboration across all experience levels to encourage dialogue, teamwork, and design leadership. She is passionate about placemaking through design connection, motivated by curiosity, and dedicated to the inclusion of people and community in the design process. A holistic designer, Yi-Chun listens to understand and prioritizes respect in relationships to inspire transformative design.
Her diverse background in architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, and marketing inspires Yi-Chun’s interest in integrated design. With experience on both public and private projects, Yi-Chun is adept at managing the goals and interests of multiple stakeholders, including navigating local and federal agencies and processes. In all she does, Yi-Chun seeks to support clarity of purpose, human experience, and beauty in both form and function.
Over the last decade in the Pacific Northwest, Yi-Chun has actively helped BIPOC businesses, homeowners, and community leaders bring their projects to fruition. Throughout her career, she has been committed to community engagements — from cleaning up the Duwamish River to designing exhibits at the Seattle Design Festival, to serving on the Board of Directors for The Seattle Children’s PlayGarden.
In 2022, Yi-Chun took on the role of Vice President of NOMA NW, where she advocates for creating equitable dialogue and actionable initiatives to support the social identities of individuals, and remains dedicated to fostering emerging professionals and building equity in the fields of architecture and design.
Yi-Chun holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies and a Bachelor of Architecture from Washington State University, with an emphasis on Urbanism through the Architectural Association in London. Outside of the studio, you can find Yi-Chun cruising on her e-bike with her family, practicing backsets in volleyball, cooking for many, and brewing fresh batches of Kombucha.
