Fairview Townhomes

Market-ready interior design brings warm colors and textures into this new, modern townhome development.

A completed set of design drawings is not the end of the design process. Case in point: though already in the thick of construction, this developer of a new townhome project in Seattle brought us onboard to review and update the interior design, and provide interior design Construction Contract Administration (CCA).

There were a number of challenges that came along with joining the project at such a late stage. The original construction documents were light in documentation and accommodation of on-site conditions. And importantly, the market had shifted since the original design, leaving it dated and unattractive to potential future buyers.

Our role was to adjust finishes, fixtures, and floor plans to accommodate onsite conditions, update the construction documents to reflect these design changes, and provide on-site supervision during construction to ensure the project was built to the design intent.

Strategic Spaces

Updating the floor plans, we sought to improve amenities on the main floor of the townhomes. We optimized the kitchen layout across multiple floor plans, creating space for a powder room while improving the functionality of the living area. With a focus on elevating the interiors, we chose durable, high-quality selections that reflected current market trends and buyer preferences. Water-saving plumbing fixtures, porcelain tile, and other conscientiously-selected fixtures and finishes are featured throughout, appealing to eco-conscious buyers.

After the dust of construction settled, we provided the finishing touches to the model unit and marketing materials. The selection of furniture, lighting, and soft goods are scaled to the size of the townhomes’ rooms. And functional layout suggestions help buyers understand options for how their lives might look in their future home.

To create a palette that aligns with the development’s architectural vision and branding, the warm wood tones and black metal elements of the staircase that serves as a focal point across all floors is referenced throughout model unit.

Camel-colored leather, terracotta accents, and furniture pieces with metal framing establish a coherent design dialogue with the built elements of the home that suggests a curated, premium living experience.
