Interior Design for Multifamily Amenities
The Eden Apartments: Amenity Refresh
Refreshing the interior and exterior amenity spaces of a Seattle apartment complex.
After a transformative refresh of the units in this Queen Anne apartment complex, we tackled an update to the amenity spaces, as well, so everything feels cohesive and current.
From the club room to the lobby and leasing lounge, to the fitness center, and up to the rooftop deck, the spaces now exude the modern feminine feel the apartment management company sought for the repositioning of the complex. We also embellished the main entry to the leasing office with a covered stairway and porch.
The goal was to make a big impact on a careful budget, catering to their target resident: professional women in Eastlake’s tech industry. The style trends “modern glam” with brass finishes and plenty of indoor plants. With a dash of contemporary “Southern Charm,” the spaces feel perky and lively, but with a gentle, formal gloss. Natural woods, earth tones, pops of teal, and the lush greenery of lots of large, (real!) plants are key elements in the materials and finish palette.
On the roof, the clients wanted to activate the area as an outdoor lounge that would be used by residents year-round. With Seattle’s weather, that called for creating a close link between the interior and exterior spaces. So, we moved the kitchen adjacent to the club room and designed a large, custom, operable awning window between the kitchen and deck. When it flips up and open, drinks and events flow out onto the rooftop, rain or shine.
