Ada’s Technical Books & Café Wins 2014 REX Award
Honored by the the Master Builders Association of King & Snohomish Counties.
We had so much fun with this project, it’s a blast to have it recognized with a REX Award for Green Remodeling Excellence.
Here’s what the Master Builders Association had to say about Ada’s Technical Books & Cafe:
“In addition to being a beautiful space, it is also a sustainable one. Salvage was integral to the design and created a tangible connection to the past. The crew salvaged all existing framing lumber for the point-of-sales shelving, bookshelves and cabinetry. A L.A. artist even used remaining lumber for an external hanging sculpture of the Space Needle. The paneled doors from the original space became a creative demarcation between the books and the café. The project also boasts LED lighting, an efficient heating system, low-flow plumbing, and a high waste-diversion rate.”
